What do you gain, and what do you give up?
The gain is prominence. A front page link is visible at a glance, and does not depend on anyone reading a full article. Some buyers use one to support a key page or a brand term where a quiet in-post mention would be too faint.
The cost is the same visibility, seen from the other side.
- It is easier to spot. A reviewer, a competitor or an automated check looking for placed links finds a front page block faster than a sentence deep in an article.
- It has less context. There is little surrounding text to show why the link belongs there.
- It is easier to remove. A host owner can edit one block in a minute.
We do not promise that a homepage link passes any amount of authority to your page. Whether a link helps depends on the host, your page and the competition.
